Don’t Believe It!: How Lies Become News

Posted on February 20th, 2008 in Noise, , ,

Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Why? Simply because.

Okay, maybe that’s doesn’t sounds convincing. But here’s the thing.

The Internet is always wrong.

The Internet consensus is a bunch of people with almost the same wavelength. Granted, almost everybody use Internet. But the strongly opinionated ones are bunch of geek with the same mindset.

Take a look at MacBook AIR for example. When AIR first comes out, the Internet consensus keeps on complaining about lack of features and power. And they will only buy it as secondary laptop (at least true for the Apple cultist).

But the thing is, consumers won’t really need all these extra power. They want a computer that just works. One USB port is more than enough, we all know by now almost everybody in this planet owned at least one USB stick.

They don’t really need the extra DVD writer cum CD writer cum whatever writer because the truth is, they don’t even know how to use it. All they need is a decent notebook that can bring them online. And that’s what AIR will do.

The Internet is always wrong because there are a lot of negativities in it. Blame the news.

You see, if you want to look for negative aspect of certain thing, you will always find it. You don’t even have to look that hard. There’s nothing perfect in this world.

So why don’t you start looking at the benefits. Live will be a whole lot easier.

Cheers!

p.s. – You read this on the Internet ;-)
