I was reading this earlier (thanks to Marilyn John for that link) and thought we could learn a thing or two about racial/religious harmony from them.
Actually, a little closer to home, I honestly believe that Malaysians need only look to where I’m from, Sabah, and they’ll have a pretty good idea of what “Muhibbah” means.
The Mosque where I used to go for Friday Prayers is situated RIGHT NEXT to, and I’m not talking 2 kilometers or 200 meters away, i’m talking SHARING THE DAMN PAGAR with, a Hindu Temple. And just down the road is a Roman Catholic church, the one my Grandma goes to. During Friday prayers, people park their cars at the temple. When there’s events at the temple, people park their cars at the mosque, and on Sundays, my mum drives my Grandma to mass. And NOBODY stomped on any bulls. EVAR. Crazy semenanjung people.
Oh, and just FYI, in case anyone wants to say something to the effect of “but that’s probably because there’s a lot of hindus in Sabah”, you might be interested to know that only 0.1% of the population in Sabah are hindus. If that ain’t a minority I don’t know WHAT is.

dude,totally agree to it…add up another,they should probably check up sarawak as well…for instance,in bintulu you’ll find masjid assyakirin in next to christian cemetery. in mukah muslim graveyard is next to christian cemetery and in miri, muslim and buddhist graveyard is side by side.
Local muslim even had their breakfast in kedai kopi apek cina,like there were no halal or haram issue.in fact there never was.
Here beyond the sea,thing seems to be different.
Pas aku baca post ni barula aku paham. Ko rs mcm ko sorang je yg paham psl toleransi. Aku pun duk oversea dlu beb. Kwn2 aku smua non-muslim. Best friends aku jewish n christians n athiests. Aku xderhal psl toleransi. Cuma dlm blog obefiend tu, yg tlis psl isu Allah tu, aku kata tak stuju atas rs bersalah aku je. Ko kata lak aku emo. Sorila. Aku very unracist person. Tapi mcm ada chap tu commentla kan “Tiada tuhan yg disembah melainkan Allah”. So, must be sumthing special then. K. Baca pos ko yg ni pun aku dah fhm ko. K. Tcare. Salam.
No worries mate. And also, I was kinda high on dope when I commented on obefiend, so I guess I should apologize for the vitriol and spite if any. My perasaans kinda come out unfiltered when I’m like that. Cheers, mate!
Maybe instead of carting the kids off to NS to cultivate the whole 1Malaysia spirit, they should just ship them over to Sabah/Sarawak instead.
